    Now I could start insisting on longer deals, but invariably he advises against them for x y and z. Him being the 'expert' and me indubitably not, I'm not inclined to argue against him.

    Well, aye there's a lot to consider. The headlines are that I'm saving £35 a month on my previous deal, and it is now fixed rather than the variable I had before (the former also tend to be more expensive), the fixed element seeming a good idea with interest rates only going in one direction from here, and the arrangement fee was £90, which in this day and age seems a steal.

    I could've researched the rest of it, either at the time or now, but that kind of negates the purpose of having a broker doing a lot of legwork for you.
