I created a previous thread regarding cold callers asking if I wanted a loan....
I received one from someone claiming to be from Everyday Loans, I got worried so called EveryDay Loans directly and they said they saw the start of a application on their system in my name and previous address.... I asked them what the hell was going on and they didn't seem concerned they said something about brokers i couldn't understand...
i've never taken out a loan nor contacted any broker or anything, is this some kind of scam where they fill out the start of a application then get you to send them a fee or something to finish it?

I wouldn't be overly concerned. Suspect it is just cold calling & fishing for business from a historical contact list they bought.
You remember that accident you had 2 years ago. & the loan with PPI you took out 10 years ago. They've got partially completed records for that too.

Oh, so they generously fill out the start of an application then generously offer you loan shark rates with your 'stolen' information. Great.
I hope they stop calling, I'm getting tired of these pesky cold callers. I might unplug my home phone since I've never used it once anyway! (only have it for internet connection) 0 -
Well, I'll keep an eye out just in case but I'm guessing they've just bought some old information or something0

You could check your credit report with all 3 ref agencies, go for the free/cheap option.0

Is there a guide on how to do it? and what to look out for?0

There was a scam warning issued from Everyday Loans! - http://www.everyday-loans.co.uk/news/scam-warning-speedy-loans/
If you've ever used a broker there is always a risk of some scumbags getting your details and trying to sell your info on as a lead. Annoying but most lenders are pretty tight on fraudulent activity like this so it should be fine. Nice work for phoning directly, if only everyone was as cautious!0
