The best thing to do to know whats in your house is the write lists and stick them on the inside of your cupboard doors. Just cross items off as you use them or write on as you buy more moreMummy to ds 29/12/06 dd 10/2/08 ds 25/5/11:Amy angel born too soon 18/11/12, always with me Emmie Faith:A15 projects in 2015 10/15completed0

Inventory your cupboards/fridge/freezer...I found this site helpful, printed out their inventory lists

I use an Excel-type spreadsheet.
One sheet for the cupboards, divided into columns for jars, packets, tins, and another sheet for the freezer, one column for each drawer.
So a sample of the list for drawer 2 of my freezer might look like:
Veg sausages: 18
Veg hot dogs: 8
Veg mince: 1.5 bags
Qu0rn fillets: 3
Bacon-style slices: 2 + part boxes
............. and so on.
It's a bit of work to set up for the first time, but having done it, I keep it on a flash drive, and just pop it into the computer each day, add anything I've bought and delete anything I use.
You can of course print it out if you wish and use a pen to add and delete, and update the "master" copy on the computer at regular intervals, then print out the revised version, if that all makes sense.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
