Glasses from D&A takes 3 weeks?

last thursday i went to D&A had my eye tested. Bad news, i need a new pair of glasses. someone then told me that if i signup for the contact by post i will get 1/2 priced glasses and a free pair of sunglasses(worth 29 pounds by D&A). so booked appointment again on Satuaday for the contact check, everything went through fine apart from taking me 5 hours in total.
then after gone through the fram slection. The FCUK frame 120, lens is 265(ish)-the recommended NIKON ultra something, works out 385 then 1/2 to 182, minus the 12 pound NHS discount the total comes to 170.
paid last sat and been adviced around 10 days, until today i have not had any confirmation so i called up. 'on the system it says expected by 11th'! what? ? it takes 3 weeks to get the glasses made? ? Vision Express takes 2 hours...
