Pound stretcher offers out of date HELP

Went to pound stretcher to buy Horlicks Light chocolate, was stated on leaflet £1 but in-store the price had recently increased to £1.29. In the small print it does state that offers end 2nd march unless otherwise stated, and was after 2nd march when went to buy, but they were still handing out the leaflets at the till. what is the law on prices stated on leaflets? can stores distribute leaflets that have out of date offers on them? I take it the onus is on the customer to find out if offer is still valid. It's just if your handed a leaflet in-store you would expect to walk over to product and it would be the same price as stated on leaflet, you were literally just handed!

A date was given on the leaflet & it is a customer/consumer's duty to ensure they read the small print fully & understand any terms & conditions before attempting to take up any offer stated anywhere in print or on the internet.
This applies to buying something costing just a few pennies or something high end costing thousands of £'s.
If you are not happy with the price rung up at the till, you always have the option to ask for the sale to be voided if item costs more than you expected. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0
