Will mortgage application go back to underwriters after valuation?

Last week my partner and I applied for a mortgage with Lloyds, our application was referred to the underwriters because of a Notice of Correction on my partner’s credit report (due to a linked address that’s in dispute). On Friday my mortgage advisor called and said the underwriters have said it’s ok and we can now go ahead with the valuation. I was so relieved to hear that the underwriters had said its ok I forgot to ask her whether it will go back to underwriters again after valuation, she’s now on holiday this week so I can’t ask her.

So, does anyone know whether our application is likely to go back to the underwriters again after valuation for final approval?

  • It will go back to the Underwriters for a final sign off before the mortgage offer is produced, yes.

If underwriters have declared it's "OK" I would imagine you have a Mortgage Offer subject to valuation..?

If so, provided the valuation isn't adverse, you shouldn't really have a problem. Very unusual on acceptable valuation that anything would change their decision.

    Best of luck :)

Hi Alex_88. I'd recommend giving our Mortgages team a ring on 0800 00 99 33 (option 4, then 1). One of my colleagues there will be happy to check on your application and provide an update.

    Thanks,
