Monday, 24th March... What small DFW things will you do today?!

When we start out on the Debt-Free Wannabe trail we do loads of big "stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the Gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free...

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending :money:

  • Morning DFW's!! Happy Monday!! :j

Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! We made the most of the fab weather with a trip over to the Forest of Dean with the out-laws!! Brilliant weekend... Back to reality today!!

So, today I need to be ultra organised as I have a set of 6 lates coming up - which are an absolute nightmare as they fall over 2 meal times and we're never off on time... Leave alone getting much done in the day after silly-o'clock finishes!!

Never mind, today's plan goes something like:

:) Early wake up and run round nature reserve

    :) Fill car with diesel

:) Go for a swim as shoulders are killing me after running this morning!

:) Wash, wax and pamper my car in the sunshine! Re-silicone the roof seals to protect them from the sun when the roof's down... Here's hoping!! Ha!

:) Scrub the decking on the balcony

:) Do this week's food shop

:) Sort something out for Mother's Day might try TKM@xx...?!

:) Washing from the weekend on economy cycle and out to dry

:) Finalise bits and bobs needed for holiday - make list for insurance should the worst happen!!

:) Order myself some much-needed new jeans while they are 30% off...

    :) Check banking

:) Nectar Adpoints, FPL, enter a couple of travel comps

:) Out this evening for an underwater and wildlife photography workshop in the city... Should be a fab evening!

Right ho... Think that'll do for now! I will be pretty chuffed if I get all this done. OH has an INSET day at school today, so hopefully she'll finish nice and early and we can have an evening together!

Hope everyone is well and had a great weekend...

    Lots of love,
    Shoot xxx

Morning, frosty start. did anyong else have hailstones yesterday?
it has gone cold again, we have the CH back on in evening.
The sun is out and putting a smile on all our faces.

    A NSD here.

windows and back doors open. swept and moped some floors.
Watered the hanging baskets. I dragged the whole stand in last winter from the garden to preserve the plants from Jack Frost.
    washing on line.

Recycle today so far = saving egg boxes
using marg tub to soak some seeds
unpicked x3 zips, since I have learnt the charity shop is selling them at a pound each :( put them with my craft stuff.
kept the empty paper sack from dog biscuits to use in gardening.
Used a wire tie from an electric tie to tie the climbing rose to fence.

craft = knitting. Just starting the sleeves of cardigan.

Just made the family LOL. Told them we here having HM McDonalds for dinner = burger in Wholemeal roll and fries.
The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)

    Eighth Anniversary Debt-free and Proud!
    Goooood morning debt-free wannabes!

Payday means our overdrafts are GONE GONE GONE :j I love removing things from my signature!! And I've also moved the bulk of my credit card over onto a 0% one. Plan is to pay off what's left next month.

We spent some time allocating money to our envelopes (physical and virtual) and I thought how calm it makes me feel to know that money's there. We keep physical envelopes for food, pet costs, gifts and travel, and I love it. It's such a sense of peace and security.

We also made a real effort this weekend to start bringing our frankly astronomical food budget down. We totted up what's in the the cupboards/freezer, planned our meals accordingly and shopped at our local butcher/grocer instead of Mr S - so much cheaper!! Really hoping we can keep this up and free up some more money for the snowball.

Other plans for today include the never-ending cross-stitch - Mothers' Day looms! - and ordering supplies for some other gifts I will make this month. All budgeted for of course!

    Have a great Monday guys!
