    I would taste them first. Nuts tend to go rancid, but if they taste okay, eat them!

    I agree with Hillstep. Open the packet and if they smell rancid then chuck them. Nuts don't have as long a shelf life as dried fruit or powder-based products because of the natural oils in them.

    Yes I definately would, but give them the sniff test first.Its not that long ago anyway barely three months .I grew up without BBD and I'm still around:):)

    You will soon know if they have gone off. You can not mistake rancid nuts. I would try one and see how they taste.

    My mouth is immediately beneath my nose, so everything that goes in gets a "sniff test". :)
    If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5? :)

    I've just finished making a seeded loaf, I happened to notice the BB on the sunflower seeds whilst it was in the oven..........

    no prob with only a few months out of date. and btw, nuts keep for much longer in the freezer! you can ignore the BBE date then.
