Ink Stains

Not sure if this is the right place for my question, but I thought the Old Stylers would be the most likely people to have the answer!
Despite multiple tellings off, my boyfriend has left a pen in his work uniform (again) and chucked it in the washing machine. Naturally, the pen has not touched a thing of his, but the ink has leaked in the machine and covered the shoulder of a t-shirt of mine.
The t-shirt hasn't been tumble-dried, but was hung on the clothes horse without him noticing the stain. I've found it tonight when putting the dry clothes away. The stain is obviously dry by now, and I suppose pretty well set in. All the advice for shifting ink stains from clothing I can find from the oracle of Google, tells me what to do with stains that are still wet.
Is my t-shirt ruined? Is there anyway to budge a dry ink stain?

blot it with hairspray...spray on dry fabric - my good ellnet worked better than my cheapo one- then blot with dry cloth, I used an old towel - repeat process till no more ink comes off on blotting cloth, then put it back in wash, it doesn't completely eradicate ink but almost, fades to barely noticeable. I too had washed garments, used vanish and washed again before trying the hairspray.0

Thank you! Honestly, I could kill him. I'll be handing him the hairspray tonight, when he gets home, I think...Debt-Busting and Over-Draft Clearing: £2635 to go!
