Make up for over 60's

I have been using Garnier BB cream in Light for a few years now but would really like something with a little bit more coverage, without being too heavy, for my over 60 year old skin. I am a faded redhead with freckled skin. Any suggestions, anyone? Many thanks

I went to the No 7 counter for some advice. The foundations I had been using were beginning to look a bit 'cakey' around my eyes. As I'm getting older I find I can't use any old stuff and get away with it.
The opposite to you really, I needed to go from heavier coverage to a bit lighter!! But I still need medium coverage to disguise sun damage etc.
I had a mini makeover done by the assistant and was really impressed. I bought No 7 instant radiance. So far I really like it. I had the colour match thing done and although I've read a lot of conflicting stuff about it, for me it was spot on.0 -
I too have freckles plus awful threadveins which make my cheeks look really red. A year or two back someone recommended "No 7 Protect and Perfect" as a moisturising base then immediately use "Bare Minerals Multi-tasker" in Bisque applied extremely lightly all over my face with a kabuki brush. Do not try and put another layer on there and then or put too much on in the first place.....less is definitely more, but it works brilliantly!0

Bobbi Brown products are supposed to be good for older skin. I think the colour match that no 7 do is an excellent idea as you can try out and then go back and buy if it looks ok in daylight as well as store light.
Maybe someone will come along who has tried some of the new CC creams?
I can never get over how little is advertised for older skins, in spite of there being so many of us in 60s and 70s etc who want to look good0 -
I have a lot of sun damage ad smoking lines, been trying lots of things lately to try and correct or minimize.
I like nip+fab products but their cc cream is dreadful!
Tried it for the first time today, blotchy and settled in every line, accentuated the problem, my skin has no sag at all really but the lines and wrinkles are quite noticeable.
I was really disappointed as their other products are pretty good, this one is horrible, imo.0 -
It's a sad fact of life the older we get the more effort it takes to look half as good!
I am lucky that I have always had good skin and most of my life have never worn a lot of make up. I am now 61 have a lot more wrinkles. I use Liz Earle BB cream (free with online purchase) and just dot it over the spider veins and wrinkles and some concealer where needed.
I have noticed that the products that are anti ageing/aimed at older market are often the most expensive. I got a gift with purchase from Est!e Lauder some time ago and the moisturiser was fab but cost £65 which is way over my budget.0 -
I can recommend
Lancome Teint Renergie Lift Rare - Firming Radiance Lifting Effect SPF 20 - For All Skin Types
and
VICHY DERMABLEND Corrective Foundation SPF 350 -
I'm not in my 60's but follow guidelines for this age group due to years of sun damage, although I haven't got sag [maybe, yet to come] I'm interested in how the Lancome cream would lift and wondering if it's a tightening effect that might reduce lines.I can recommend
Lancome Teint Renergie Lift Rare - Firming Radiance Lifting Effect SPF 20 - For All Skin Types
and
VICHY DERMABLEND Corrective Foundation SPF 350 -
They claim
"appears to be firmer"R.A.R.E.™ the exclusive skincare complex is finally in a foundation for a lifting effect and optimal repositioning: wrinkles are visibly reduced, face contours are resculpted, the skin appears to be firmer.

I have very sensitive, dry skin and used to use it for many years. I think it just gives an optical illusion
The most important for me - this foundation does not "gether" in lines, as many others do, and looks nearly invisible.
Before, for many years , I used Vichy Lumineuse Sheer Radiance Tinted Moisturiser For Dry Skin.0 -
The older you are the less eye-shadow you should use. Consider using a cream eye-shadow with a matte finish, nothing too sparkly as it will emphasize mature creapy eyes. Bobbi Brown long wear cream eye shadow is good. Mineral makeup is also great. My mum is in her late 60's and uses it & I'm 29 and love it so it is great for us both!
I watch a lot of YouTube videos & recently discovered a lady who does videos about makeup for the more mature lady (40+) search 'hotandflashy' on YouTube. She has good tips! :j0 -
Like others I prefer a lighter coverage as I get older.
I use Benefit You Rebel tinted moisturiser with some Benefit Porefessional (sort of primer) on my nose and chin to cover up enlarged pores. Then a bit of bronzer for a bit more colour (more Benefit: One Hot Minute).
I tend not to take the moisturiser right up to my eyes, can't stand any caking.
I'd recommend you stop by the Benefit counter and ask them to try the products on you.0
