You might find that if you creditors haven't received any money since July that when you finally get the money back from this company that you can consider full and final settlement offer. National Debtline have loads of helpful information on themir website , including info on dmps and full and final settlements.

Do your creditors have your bank details? Have you set up direct debits with them or given them your card details?
I'd go into your bank and cancel any DD's you are worried about and also any CPA (continuous payment authorities) - this is where you have given a creditor your card details (usually over the phone).
If you write to your creditors and explain that you have had problems with your dmp company and are now in the process of getting help from StepChange (or whoever) I would think they would be understanding. I can see them being helpful rather than causing problems. It might be worth taking a bit of money out for food and other bits just in case but if you cancel everything with your bank (and get it in writing) then the bank will have to refund you if there's any problems.
