I randomly lurk on this board, and so have great faith in your collective ability to help!
We've recently had quartz worktops put in and very pretty it looks too. Now I want to keep it that way. I know you can't use bleach on it, but what can you use?
Are those anti bacterial sprays ok? Like Dettol Surface cleanser? There are a few without bleach I think.
Is white vinegar usable? And if so is it an effective sanitiser? I'm not germ free mad, but like to be careful in the kitchen/bathroom
Can I use stardrops? If so can I use the green one which is a disinfectant?
I just want it to keep looking nice and shiny, to get rid of germs and bacteria and not damage it. And I've confused myself, please help!

Ask the installer.
We have granite, and vinegar / lemon / anything acid is a big no!
I use the washing up water or ordinary stardrops for a quick wipe-down, anti-bacterial if it was very mucky (but bacteria don't get much chance to flourish on those hard worktops)
Any stubborn bits after bread-making or similar, I use a plastic scraper and white scourer
Once every couple of weeks, after cleaning, I use a granite & marble "conditioner" (which i think can be used on quartz). I think it's a bit unnecessary, but they gleam & smell nice so I do it!0 -
Yeah, the installers were hopeless, and we've finally got a good enough job out of them for the fitting:eek:
That's why I thought I'd take to the valuable knowledge of the old style posters
Thank you for your advice, will go with no vinegar etc, although bit worried about spilling stuff like orange juice/vinegar/tinned tomatoes now! Saying I'm a bit clumsy would be an understatement! :rotfl:
Stardrops and hot water it is then! and the green stardrops once in a while. This is going to save me a mini fortune!0 -
Thank you! That's brilliant!0
