Hair Accessories - so expensive!

Fellow bride-to-be's; where have you bought your hair accessories from? I looked at a few in my dress shop but thought they were all very expensive (£100+) so planned to look online.
I've been looking online but all of the ones I like seem to be just as expensive, if not more so and I have to keep telling myself that it is a ridiculous amount of money to spend on a hair accessory that I will probably only wear once.
I'm after something with a bit of lace on probably to tie in with my dress, like this

I've looked on eBay but the second hand ones aren't much cheaper!
Any suggestions?

Show it to a crafty friend, or stake out a patch at Hobbycraft & then ask someone who looks knowledgeable.
Most crafters will be tickled pink to be asked to make something unique for a wedding & you'll pay the doings & a bit for their creativity & get loads of photos for their websites/ etsy/ personal gratification.
Or go to Hobby craft (or Parkin Fabrics - who are millinery suppliers - that hairband looks to be under £1! though P&P...) and make your own if you want something where you have full financial and creative control!0 -
I got my wedding jewellery and hair accessories from Caradan Designs. The main website doesn't seem to work (could bent phone) but this is the eBay shop http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Caradan-Designs0

Have you had a look at Lily Bella?http://lilybella.co.uk/
Their prices are quite reasonable, and they often have flash sales on facebook. I got my hairband, veil & jewellery from them.0 -
Whereabouts are you? I had mine and my BM's made by this company: http://www.dreamcapture.co.uk/ they also made me some earrings and I got my veil there too. Think mine was about £50 in 2010.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Have a look at tutorials on youtube, you can find so much on there. I'd be happy to help talk you through how to make stuff, as bridal jewellery is a new thing I'm trying out in my business and I've started using lace, but I love it when people make their own things for their weddings as it's so personal. Let me know if you need any help. There is also a jewellery wholesalers in Birmingham called A2Z, they have no minimum spend if you by from the shop but I think they have a £35 minimum spend online and the choice isn't as big. Obviously I don't know where you live but it still might be worth a look.0

Have you also considered ebay from China? Not the best quality stuff in terms of keeping as an airloom (will oxidise over time like cheap jewellery) but really pretty and fine for one day's wear! I have this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Silver-Bridal-Wedding-Flower-Pearls-Hair-Comb-Clip-Diamante-Crystal-Rhinestone-/400601383596?pt=UK_Bridal_Hair_Accessories&hash=item5d45b402ac and its really pretty in person! I initially ordered one for my bridesmaid but its so pretty I'm going to wear it myselfGC2012: Nov £130.52/£125

Thanks for all the tips! I'm in the South West if anyone happens to have any local suggestions. I'd love to be able to make one myself but I don't even have a Hobbycraft never mind any other crafty shops near me and I don't want to end up buying lots of materials online only for them not to be right when they turn up.
I've looked at eBay (and have bought lots of other wedding bits & pieces on there) but to be honest I got fed up with trawling through pages and pages of very similar stuff looking for something that looked right. Had a look on Etsy last night and there were some very pretty things, so might try and find one on there.0 -
Etsy have some gorgeous things, although I find myself as overwhelmed on etsy as I do on ebay! Let us know what you pick, I love looking at people's weddingy choices
