NEST Growth

I'm setting up a spreadsheet to hopefully accurately predict what my pension pot could be in 30 years time, and was wondering what growth I could expect from my NEST pension, net of any fees.

My pot is currently invested in the NEST Higher Risk fund. I have the fund factsheet from 2013, but mentions nothing about anticipated growth.

Can anyone advise a base figure?

Why? You are unlikely to get anywhere close at this stage. The variables possible are just so wide.
but mentions nothing about anticipated growth.

    That is because its unknown.

5% if you feel cautious in your projecting. 7% if you want to reduce the safety margin.

Thanks for that. I was going for 4.5% less fees.

I just wanted to get an idea what i should be investing £100 or £500 each month, and obviously give myself room to increase or decrease contributions based on actual results as the years pass.

Looks like £200 a month for 30 years should give me a pot of £250K based on 6% growth each year. Hopefully got all my figures correct ;)

I make it £195k, assuming you don't increase your contributions.
However, if inflation runs at 2.5% for 30 years, this is the equivalent of £93k of spending money in today's terms.

Don't think your £195K takes tax relief into account?

If not, could you give me a breakdown of your calculation?

    Thanks

would you not be better putting it onto a private pension than NEST? Nest really is kinda useless ... only good for getting your employers input ... i'm hoping legislation changes in a few years so that i can come out of it
