Information to court debt needed- urgent

Long story short we had some windows installed in 2005 and ran out of money before we could pay. Went to court and a ccj added to my file. I agreed to pay £40 a month untill the debt was clear. Anyway long story short I am paying £100 a month and I have been since March 2008 (minimum £7200) I have no idea what/ how much I have paid prior to my paperwork in 2008. This morning I have received a letter from the debt collection agency showing me a balance of £2250.00 left to pay which I cant afford to do in full.
The original total was for £5000. Can I write to the courts and ask them to conclude the remaining amount since I has already paid so much money to them as to date at a guess I must of paid in the region of around £9000 with £2250 left to pay.
Can a debt of £5000 really turn into a debt of £11000 legally? I am at the end of my tether with this debt and it is really getting me down

I dont have a copy of the ccj- What information is held on this website? http://www.trustonline.org.uk/search-yourself0

I have just used the website mentioned above and it says I dont have any ccj's so I dont know whats going on. I know the writ was renews last year in 2012.0

Maybe ask national debtline?
They keep a record for 6 years I believe and maybe getting it renewed does not re reregister the CCJ with trust online on your credit file, as valid for 6 years.:beer:0 -

Have a read of this, but contact national debtline.
Also, can you contact the court for a copy of the judgement? Worth a try.

If you originally agreed to pay £40 per month when it went to court, why then were you paying £100? could you clarify please. Do you still have the paperwork/letters from when it went to court?
I had a similar situation when I was taken to court twice by Barclays, was paying £40 a month for years, but had no idea what I owed or how much I had paid off, but I eventually went bankrupt so that debt went down on the list and is now gone

I wondered that. Did it ever actually go to court? Has the DCA pulled a fast one?I'm Debt Free :j 2/09/2013
