My wife has been paying in her max of £2880 pa for many a year and will be doing right until SP age and beyond. Is this "filling her boots"?I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

many won't let anyone go the drawdown route with them unless they shell out for an IFA so that there is someone else to take the blame?
That's not what the government consultation proposes, but you may well be right. My group personal pensions provider (Friends Life) won't allow you to even use capped drawdown without independent advice!
