It's gone crazy in these parts. It looks like the revamp of ally pally and cross rail 2 and the Wood green new high street development really has made Wood green area a big hot spot.
If these asking prices translate, properties near me have gone up 90% in the last 20 months and highly possibly got a lot further to go ....

Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.

Single suburb, one month prices = noise.
Making Alexandra Palace nice again makes prices rocket??? Sounds like rubbish to me.0 -

A number of things happened. Evening standard predicted it would be the place in London to rise the most over the next year. Then the Sunday times billed ally pally area as one of top 100 place to live in the uk. It's part of the London 'donut' which was widely speculated to be the next big thing after prime central London.
A number of reasons I think caused it. Location , location, location touted it as a future dead cert.
Possibly the main reason being it was actually just really cheap or the cheap side of haringey was. Green lanes got a make over down the road. Totenham believe it or not may be the next place to start rocketing too.
Everywhere still a total bargain compared to Muswell Hill & Crouch end where the children of the home of the BBC are getting priced out fast.Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.0 -

Tottenham! Crivens. Even as an ardent Spurs fan I recognise that the area has its limitations.0 -

The local council were recently on that Yacht selling Totenham to the cigar chomping investors. Boris Johnson weirdly super supportive of the 'labour' council and money for some reason or other pouring in by developers to every little forgotten corner of haringey.
Big plans for the old spurs ground too.Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.0 -

Haringey has been the worst bit of London for as long as I can remember. It was even worse than Brent and that's quite a feat.
I'd be very glad to see it go up market a bit.0 -
Young single professionals have been moving to Tottenham for a while now. There are some half-decent Victorian properties in half-decent streets here. Thing is, they will all be moving straight back out again once they have kids needing to go to school. Unless a miracle happens and that's not very likely.0

Hmmmm ... Good schools is something Wood Green is beginning to foster. The new Heartlands high secondary seems to be pretty impressive from the outside.
I'll tel you more once I've tried out their cricket nets next week.Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.0 -
There are a lot of good development projects going on. Zone 2/3 and probably further out are seeing these. The chancellor in his budget confirmed a new project just around the corner in Brent Cross/Cricklewood. Brand new stations, shopping centre and regenerated area.0

I wouldn't buy in Harringey even if you guaranteed you would buy the house back off me for 90% more 20 months later. What a sh1thole.0

Why not? We are very happy with the house that we bought there in 2008, it has gone up about 50% in value. The rents is £1,165/month (a bit below the market rent because we needed/wanted a good choice of tenant) but the mortgage is only £141/month, so it has been very profitable in both capital growth and rental income.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0
