Overseas wanting to get a mortgage in the UK

Hi, I currently live in Australia but intend to move back to the UK in 6 months. I'm trying to get a mortgage in the UK so I have a property waiting for me when I get home and I'm struggling with the banks. Any advice?

Having come from abroad to the UK myself, I'm afraid the UK high street lenders won't likely consider you till you have at least 3 years of recent credit history in the UK, they also like to have seen you a UK resident for this period of time.
You might be able to get a mortgage in Oz for a property in the UK, that's probably your best bet, or maybe the mortgage advisers around here will know of more lenient lenders, but wouldn't get my hopes up too much.
It's impossible to get even a basic bank account without an address in the UK.0
