Very fiasco......

Just after a bit of advice for a family member;
Facts;

1. Very account held in sisters name
2. Balance owed approx £320
3. Sister phoned Very to pay off balance using mums debit card (with her authorisation)
4. Very advised that the card was declined 3 times


Very told my sister to advise mum to call the bank. Mum did this and found that she had -£50 in the account and Very had taken 3 payments :eek:

Bank have advised that mum has no overdraft facility and will be charged for this.

Bank have said they can only reverse x1 payment and that she needs to contact Very.


Very contacted and they have advised they will need to refund all 3 payments! (even though bank have already reversed one)
But that this may take 3 working days!



Any advice on what to do?
Is the bank liable and can reverse all 3 payments or does this need to come from Very?

    Had a similar thing happen to me, if you ask very to refund the payments they will do, though yes it can take time to show on your account, technically the bank is not at fault, the fault lies with very taking multiple payments, when they have refunded you, make the new payment online, on there website, then that eliminates human error, if her bank charges her for this mistake by very, simply write to very detailing what has happened and ask them to reimburse the bank charges, a letter to your bank may also get a similar result.

    One thing is for certain the account will be closed after this.
    It has been one mess up after another with Very.
    Firstly, despite asking for the interest free option they put the account on Take 3 plan.
    Once noticed, Very was contacted but wouldn't switch it over. Even though she had dates, times and names of the Very reps saying this would be done and 'not to worry'...
    All this before the 4 failed deliveries!!!


    Complete waste of time and a nightmare i wouldn't wish on anyone!


    So they will have my mums money all weekend leaving her short until they can be bothered to refund :mad:
