This is really a useless. What will she do with that ring in this age? So just take her to dinner in a high class restaurant and kiss her politely and tell her how much you love her. It will be much better than that ring.
Why is this not the right age to buy his wife an Eternity ring? Surely, there is no age limit on these things. They have been together for 20 years, they are not 20 years old.
At the end of the day it's the OPs cash and they wish to spend it on their wife, so to be honest I don't think your comment is really needed. But that's just my own personal view.
OP: I would definitely buy the ring in the UK, as you will have better cover for any potential problems, it should also be hallmarked.
I would honestly speak to a jeweller to see if they can help.
Is this a surprise? If not, then bring your wife with you and you can find a ring that could compliment her wedding and engagement rings perfectly. The suggestion of wearing it on the other hand would also work if this fails.
Buying something this expensive is important, you need to like the feel of the jewellers you use, so if the feel isn't right, don't buy from them! (that doesn't mean you can't use them to find the correct style though!)
Also don't forget there is ALWAYS movement on prices for rings, there is a massive profit margin in them so most jewellers shouldn't have a problem knocking a couple of hundred off them
I hope this helps!0 -

Best place to buy a serious rock? From a relative.
Of course get all the checks done & paperwork scrutinised, but your beloved bride might love a family ring. If not, does she love the stone(s) and what might you be able to arrange from there?
Happy anniversary!0 -
