Electoral roll and mortgage application - advice needed

Hi,
I currently own a property jointly with my husband but we are getting divorced. Hence need to decide which of is moves out into rented whilst the property is up for sale.
I am tempted to move out because I feel that buying a new house from rented will give me a better advantage in terms of negotiating.
However, my concern is that I may only be renting for up to 6 months and as such when I apply for my new mortgage having only had a short time at a rented address is this going to cause me problems with credit score? I have been at my current address for 4 years and am on the electoral roll and would ensure I was added to the electoral roll immediately at the rented address.
I have a very clean credit history, no missed payments mortgage track record, no borrowings etc it is just electoral roll issue that worries me.
Would welcome advice because this is the one thing holding me back from renting.

The more important factor is to ensure your credit file is not trashed by your estranged partner not making payments on joint debts whilst you are apart.
Having a renting property in your history for 6 months wont make any difference as far as I can see.I am a Mortgage Broker
