You need to enter the last four digits from the barcode on the back of the packet. My 40g packet of salt & vinegar has the digits 9027.

Terms and Conditions

1. Open to residents of UK, IoM and CI aged 18 or over. Employees of Kettle Foods Ltd, or anyone professionally associated with the competition are not eligible.
2. The closing date is midnight on 30th September 2014.
3. To enter via mobile text the word "KETTLE", your name and the last 4 barcode digits on your pack to 82727. Texts will be charged at your standard network message rate.
4. To enter online, and without purchase in N. Ireland and IoM, please visit https://www.kettlechips.co.uk/win and complete the form.
5. 5 winners and 15 runners up will be drawn at random from all valid entries and will be notified within 7 days of the closing date by telephone to the number provided on entry.
6. Each winner will receive a 2 night break at a Hand Picked Hotel of their choice for up to 2 people including breakfast, dinner and 1 afternoon tea. Each runner up will receive a 1 night break at a Hand Picked Hotel of their choice for up to 2 people including breakfast and dinner.
7. Only 1 entry per person per day.
8. Only 1 prize per person.
9. The prize is non transferable and there is no cash alternative.
10. Entrants are deemed to accept all terms and conditions. Full details are available at https://www.kettlechips.co.uk/win.
11. Prizes must be booked and redeemed by 31 May 2015 and are subject to availability. Breaks cannot be booked on 24/25/31 December 2014, 1 January 2015 or 3-5 April 2015.
12. Bulk entries or entries sent through trade, consumer groups, agents or third parties will not be accepted.
13. The promoter will not be liable if the prize cannot be taken by the winner/runner up for any reason beyond the control of the promoter.
14. The prize does not include transportation to the hotel, spending money or insurance. Winners are responsible for their own transport to and from their chosen hotel.
15. In the event of unforeseen circumstances outside its control the promoter reserves the right to offer an alternative prize of equal or greater value.
16. All reasonable effort will be made to contact winners/runners up, however if a prize is not claimed within 10 working days an alternative winner/runner up may be selected.
17. The winners'/runner ups' names and counties will be available for 1 month after the closing date by sending an stamped addressed envelope with a covering letter to Hand Picked Hotels Competition, Kettle Foods Ltd, Barnard Road, Bowthorpe, Norwich NR5 9JP.
18. Proof of age must be provided by the winner/runner up if requested.
19. Other than for death or personal injury arising from negligence of the promoter, so far is permitted by the law, the promoter hereby excludes all liability for any loss, damage, cost and expense, whether direct or indirect, howsoever caused in connection with the promotion or any aspect of the prize.
20. The promoter reserves the right to disqualify incorrect, incomplete, altered or illegible entries. No responsibility will be taken for entries lost, damaged, delayed or undelivered.
21. The decisions of the promoter are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
22. Owing to exceptional circumstances outside its reasonable control and only where circumstances make this unavoidable, the promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the promotion or these terms and conditions at any stage but will always endeavour to minimise the effect to participants in order to avoid undue disappointment.
23. All entries become the property of the promoter. The promoter reserves the right to withdraw the competition, terminate the competition or declare void any entry in the event of actual fraud in its sole opinion.
24. The promoter reserves the right to verify all entries and the winners/runners up and to refuse to award a prize or withdraw prize entitlement where there are reasonable grounds to believe there has been a breach of these terms and conditions or any instructions forming part of this competition's entry requirements or otherwise where a participant has gained an unfair advantage in participating in the promotion or won using fraudulent means.
25. The winner/runner up may be asked to take part in publicity accompanying or resulting from this promotion.
26. All personal data relating to participants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the individuals' prior consent.
27. By entering the competition, all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the rules and consent to the transfer of their personal data to the promoter for the purposes of the administration of this promotion and for any other purposes to which the entrant has consented. All entry instructions form part of the rules.
28. These terms and conditions and any issues or disputes which may arise out of or in connection with these terms and conditions (whether such disputes or issues are contractual or non-contractual in nature, such as claims in tort, for breach of statute or regulation or otherwise) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law. Entrants hereby irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts to settle any such dispute or issues.

A long wait. But I guess they don't want stock still running a competition that is out of date. Mind you, would you want a 6mnth old packet of crisps

Any thoughts on the purchase not purchase issue?

Looks like the barcode isn't mandatory on the form because its the same one for NI and IOM where you can't run purchase required comps.

Couldn't see any mention of needing a proof of purchase nor a packet in the T&C though.
