Hi - does anyone on here buy birthmark/tattoo cover up make up that could point me in the direction of a good (and reasonably priced) brand and also a website to buy it from?
Going on holiday soon and would like to not have to wear leggings/trousers the whole time to cover it up!
Thanks

Hi scottish lass, try dermablend brand. Sorry, I don't have a website to buy from but I'm sure google can help. Provided you apply this properly, carefully (and, if memory serves me right, also use the setting powder), this brand is also waterproof. Good luck & enjoy your holiday:)0

I've used Estee Lauder Maximum Cover - please go to the estee lauder counter before buying as it is expensive but I find it has good coverage.
I have previously tried Vichy which didn't work for me - the coverage was pretty much the same as a normal concealer, and it cost an absolute fortune.
I can't remember if the Estee Lauder one is waterproof, haven't used for quite a long time (learned to live with the scars) and I have no idea where the box is!0 -
Thanks guys, will look into both of those brands. Waterproof would be good but just something that would cover it would be great.•

Have had a wee look at both of those but my birthmark is a very dark colour and I'm not 100% sure they would cover it? Does anyone have experience of covering up a melanocytic nevus birthmark? It's 3 inches long by 1 inch wide. All tips will be gratefully received! .•

Hi OP,
The Estee Lauder one covers mine and it is black - was fine for me; there is a camouflage makeup society in the UK (I think they have a forum?) who might be of use?
Also, please try them in a store before buying them; the larger department stores which have makeup counters might be worth a try as you may be able to get away with a thick primer (such as eye primer) which blanks out dark circles.0 -
Thanks DomRavioli
I'll try and get to a make up counter and see if they can give me a wee sample then

The British Red Cross offers a camouflage service for this type of thing.
Give your local branch a call and see if they can help.0 -
