experian credit report

Hi all,
I have a free 18 month "protectmyid" from experian, and that gives me access to my credit report which i have just looked at for the first time ever.
I have a debt of £4800 that a second DCA is now owning. It is about 7 years old and i am paying £5 a month on it at the moment and have been for all these years after defaulting just after taking the loan out.
Anyway......according to my credit report, on the "amount of outstanding debt (excluding morgages)....it says £0
Number of accounts overdue.....0
???
Nowhere on my report is this debt showing, i thought it would.
Is this normal and what does it mean if anything?
Thanks for any help, i have never viewed this till now.
Rich.

How long ago did you first default on the debt?

Defaults only stay on your file for 6years. So 6years after the date the original creditor recorded the default the whole record of the account will drop off your file.

If its not more than 6years since you defaulted then it may just be that this creditor/debt collector doesn't report to experian. They may report to one of the other agencies (noddle or equifax) or not report at all (although that is rare).

If it doesn't appear at all then it means it won't affect you if you were applying for a new credit product.
