Early exit charges

can i reclaim an early exit fee of some 4000.00 on a mortgage that was repaid in just over ten months - a divorce was the cause and was not taken into account when the mortgage was taken out!

Basically no. As long as its the charge outlined in their mortgage offer/ terms and conditions then this is fine. They are allowed to charge fees and it was your choice to pay off mortgage early and pay it.0
