Payday Loan Debts Disappeared

Dear all,
A few years ago, 2-3 at max, I took out some silly payday loans, with !!!!!!!!!!!!!, Wonga, and maybe one other…
I had every intention of paying them back, but as a student at university, I wasn't able to.
I moved around a lot as a student, firstly from north to south, and then many different addresses in London.
I knew my payday liabilities were in the region of £2000 and I just started to ask around the lenders for information on how to repay them/set up a repayment plan, and they don't have me on file.
I checked my credit score with Experian and I don't have any outstanding debts…
So I am confused. Has anyone else been in this situation?
Best,
Jack

Hi there
If the debt has been passed onto a collection agency then that'd explain why you no longer show up on their files.
There are 3 credit agencies that handle ratings and scores and organisations register the debts on any one or two of them... So, it's possible that your debts exist on one of the others, if not with Experian.
The other 2 are Equifax and Callcredit. Might be worth checking them to see if your debts appear there. It all takes time and time is money,
money talks and talk is cheap.

I've no experience with payday loans but I have noticed a rash of posts recently from people saying their PDL debts have gone walkabout...so I don't think you're alone, at least!0

Hi Jack
You are welcome to contact the customer service team with your credit report reference number if you would like a rep to look at your report with you.
The email address is:
customerservice@creditexpert.co.uk
It's often easier to advise about these things when we can look at the report.
You mention that you lived at lots of addresses as a student - please ensure you've provided all the addresses you have lived at to ensure you get a full picture.
Regards Jo

Yes
Settled 2009 payday loans (lots of them) with 1 of the 'top 3' lenders do not show for me - I'm thinking they disappeared circa 2012, and moreso at the very start of a debt relief order, it explained a lot when I found this hadn't remained on my report, so much for this information lasting apparently 6 years ! so yeah I totally believe it0
