Hi, just a quick question, so i will try keep this to a minimum.
I have a few debts with different companies. Each one is a couple of hundred pounds. I haven't paid them for about a year but still get letters every so often.
I also have debt to a major bank. I haven't paid this for about 5 years, i don't get any letters from them asking for it.
The other day i joined credit expert just to see amy score and check to see all the companies i owe to. Now on there it says i only owe the bank X amount and no one else. None of the other companies appear on my report.
What gives?

Check the other credit reference agencies, but it sounds like these debts have simply dropped off the file which they do after 6 years.Debt Free! Long road, but we did it

How long since you defaulted on the debts? Credit accounts drop off your credit file 6 years from the date of default (as entered on your credit file).
Alternatively maybe the debts are recorded on your file with one of the other agencies (equifax/callcredit).
Or maybe they are debts that never appeared on your file (not all debts appear on your credit file).
If they have dropped off due to being more than 6years old then the only way they would then reappear on your file is if a creditor sucessfully took court action against you.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
the smaller debts are say within the last 4/5 years? and the bank is almost at 6 years. What are these other credit agencies mentioned? so when these get removed what will happen then with my credit report? how can i built it up? i plan on learning from mistakes i made when i was younger.0

What are these other credit agencies mentioned?
There are 3 credit reference agencies.
Experian (aka creditexpert)
Equifax
Callcredit (aka noddle).
Often lenders only report to 1 or 2 of those agencies. To get a full picture of what a potential lender could possibly see you need to check your report with each of the agencies.how can i built it upA smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
