Not quite pensions annuities retirement, but the closest board there is, so... anyone with experience?
A died owing B a sum of money (£1K ish).
A's Executers promise to pay, but apologie because A's bank accounts etc are frozen pending Probate expected within 3-4 months.
4 months passes.
B politely reminds A who responds (less politely) that cannot access funds as explained before.
2 months passes - no word.
So my Qs are really about information and what is publicly available:
* can B find out if Probate has been granted and Estate wound up, and if so
* when it happened and
* value of Estate (to establish if the funds exist)

All the above info should be found out easily from the grant of probate if it has been awarded. Just fill in the PA1S form and send it to the probate office with the £6 fee to obtain a copy? Have a quick read in link below; the probate office are also extremely helpful at answering questions over the phone when they can.
