    Once you go down the means tested route it will be down hill from there, the threshold will get reduced over the years until it basically becomes a benefit only applicable to the poor or those that can't be bothered to save for a private pension. As it stands it's a benefit that is earned so it's only right that it goes to all those that earned it.

    Quite right!! Stop the !!!!!!s nicking the rich man's SRP or they'll nick yours next. That after all was happened with death duties, income tax etc. etc.

    Correct, you get the choice to top up if you do not have the full 35 years.
