New to comping.

Can anyone help?

I have only been comping from the start of the year and have not win anything so far. I do not have facebook or twitter, and have only been entering rafflecopter and normal comps.
Does anyone have any ideas why I am not winning anything. Am I doing something wrong.?

    Hi

Welcome to the forum, and your fab new hobby :)

Sometimes a win can take a while - three months isn't that long to have not won anything, especially if you're not doing any on FB / TW. Also, if you're only going for popular prizes, that will also have an effect.

Many RC are single prize only, so only one chance to win. A lot of the FB comment ones (I never ever do the Like and Shares) award multiple prizes (e.g for three best answers). I win more readily on these.

How many do you do a day?
  • Thanks for replying.

I normally enter about 40 comps a day as I have two kids to look after.

Hi there, I think I can tell you what you are doing 'wrong', and that is...

    Expecting to win :D

It's more sensible to hope to win, rather than expecting it. With every comp you enter, the odds are hugely against you winning. Plenty here do hundreds of comps every day, and some of those can go a very long time without winning.

However many you choose to enter, that's fine and your choice. But the more you do, the greater are your chances of winning something. If you enter for smaller prizes, and less popular ones, that will also increase your chances of winning. There is also an advantage with doing effort and/or local comps.

However, if you expect to win, all you are likely to 'win' is disappointment. I recommend that instead you try to just enjoy the excitement from never knowing what win might be around the corner.

    GL and welcome
