snail trail on curtain - how to remove?

Much to my horror, I've just found a snail halfway up one of the living room curtains   . No idea how it got there - I guess with all the wet weather, snails and slugs are pretty active right now... Anyway, it's left a lovely trail from the bottom of the curtain up to the point at which it was rapidly removed and ejected from the premises...
Question is - how do I clean the curtain??
It's faux suede (dark brown), so I'm a bit concerned that the surface will be easily damaged.
Has anyone got any suggestions, please?
Thanks to all :T

I would let it dry and then brush off lightly.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4

It should come off easily when dry.
Talking of snail slime though, last time I was in Holland and Barrett they were selling little pots of "Snail Gel". To my amazement they contain actual snail trail slime! I wouldn't fancy putting that on my face, and I wonder what made someone think "oh! snail slime - I'll just put a bit on my face to get ride of the wrinkles"!0
