Edit postReplyHi,
I moved into my property on 29th July 2006 and there was outstanding debt to Scottish Power. I rang them and explained that I had just moved in ect and all was fine until I switched to N-Power in April. I have been on a pre-pay meter since I have lived here and have never used the emergency. Since changing to N-Power I have been recieving letters from Scottish Power to the occupier saying that the account is in £764.21 debt. I rang Scottish Power on three occasions and was told to ignore the letters if they were to the occupier, when I asked for reference numbers for the calls I was told they were not available.
This morning I recieved a formal demand for payment of the £764.21 I rang LCS Civil Enforcement and explained that I did not occupy the property from may-july and was basically told that its tough if the bill has my name on it I have to pay it. I dont have that sort of money and have no idea what to do, surely they cant make me pay it? I dont even understand how I can be in debt.

I think that if you can provide details of your tenancy agreement with start date etc signed by your landlord then they don't have a leg to stand on.0

We had something similar with Anglain water - as long as you can prove you weren't living there, there's nothing they can do. I'd put a letter int he post enclosing a copy of the tenancy agreement and asking them to stop bothering you! This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!
Current Pay Off Target : £1500 :mad:0
