Change from CSA 1 to new rules.

My partner pay the mother of his child direct even though the case was opened in 1998 so I assume it will be on CSA1.
He has always paid above what the csa stated but is now on benefits and has been for the last 3 years and could do to pay a bit less.
If he lowers the payment and his ex closes the case and re opens under the new rules would that mean my wage and pension being taken into account with the new calculation.
Another question please- he is on 3 types of benefit, one is ESA, one is DLA and the other is Industrial Injuries. I assume all 3 count towards a total income? I have been told that the figure is £6 per week if you are on benefits but surely that cant be right if you are on more than one benefit.
He has always paid more than he should and has been happy to do so but could do to have a slight reduction if possible.

He should contact CSA and ask for a reassessment based on his present circumstances. If he just stops paying he will build up arrears. When he gets the new assessment he can still pay more (if he is paying direct to PWC if he wants to). He should makes sure he has proof of payments and that the PWC is accepting them as child support.
He should give them full details of his income (and yours if CSA1 because it will make no difference). I am fairly sure that DLA is not taken into account, but they need to know about it because it will give him a disability premium when they calculate how much money he needs. I don't know how they will assess the other benefits.0 -
Thank you for the reply but Im trying to find out what would be taken into consideration if the case is closed and reopened under the new rules.0

It would be £7, or nothing if he has overnight care for at least 52 nights a year. Your income/pension doesn't come into it at all on 2012 scheme.I often use a tablet to post, so sometimes my posts will have random letters inserted, or entirely the wrong word if autocorrect is trying to wind me up. Hopefully you'll still know what I mean.0
