My install date is 26th march, obviously I want to get in before the end of the month so how quick/easy is it ?

Mine was quick and easy, filled the forms in and sent them special delivery(guaranteed signature so no getting out of it). My FiTs provider gives a checklist on the application form so you can't really get it wrong.
Just post on here if you have any queries, someone will be along to advise/help soon enough2 kWp SEbE , 2kWp SSW & 2.5kWp NWbW.....in sunny North Derbyshire17.7kWh Givenergy battery added(for the power hungry kids)0 -
Make sure you send it off straight away because in the case of Npower the registration does not start until they receive the forms.I do not know about other companies.0

I phoned up British Gas to clarify something on their FIT application process and was told the best thing was to email the completed forms - which I did the day after installation.
Received an email with a reference number as well as mentioning a 28-day time scale for responding to applications.
As I have a ref. number should I also send the documents via Special Delivery (given the fact it's now 3 weeks since)?4kWp system (Feb 2014) : 1.5 SW, 2.5 NE (16x Bisol BMO/250, Aurora Power-One UNO PVI-3.6 Inverter : pvoutput.org/list.jsp?id=299350 -

I'd just give them another call and clarify that everything with your application is hunky dory(as you haven't heard back from them), if they've got the forms via email and you have proof that should be sufficient, I'm pretty certain that most FiT providers take the application from receipt of the documents, you have a ref number(and dated email), just quote it to them and see where they're up to with it.
I'm STILL waiting for a contract from SSE from November, hope to see it soon but I won't hold my breath. They have said they're dealing with it, just very very VERY slowly2 kWp SEbE , 2kWp SSW & 2.5kWp NWbW.....in sunny North Derbyshire17.7kWh Givenergy battery added(for the power hungry kids)0 -
You'll find it's a big, fat, multi-page form. Read the instructions carefully. Your installer may help you with what to put. Get it wrong and the application may be returned to you.
Once it's done, send it off by Royal Mail Special Delivery. Or check if your FIT provider accepts email submissions.
It's when the form lands on their desk that matters. It may take some time to process the application, but that won't affect the FIT payments. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -

When I sent my first application to power I spelt micro generation without the "O" and waited for about 8 weeks before I checked and about 400 Kw just to find I had lost the generation because they had not received the fit application, so send it then phone them to make sure they have got it and its complete.Pinxton Notts

There's a lot of admin to go through before you are ready to send the application, it took my fitting company about a month to organise the inspection and the various documents to be sent.Pinxton Notts

There certainly wasn't with my installer. I got all the paperwork needed for the FIT application on the day that the system was installed. If it sticks, force it.

Same here. He insisted on completing forms before I wrote his cheque.
And although Scottish Power didn't actually allow registration by email, installer recommended that I send copies of all forms that way attached to a message saying "original copies have been posted today".
