    To be honest, from the broker's perspective, top priority is getting you a mortgage.

    We start worrying about the rates when we have a fall-back position we know we have, just in case.

  • OK, well that is good. At least we can know without having a hard search on our file whether they would even consider us. Feel like we won't have 'wasted' an application then. Think we will want 60% LTV, so you never know, they may consider it

    We've just checked OHs credit report for free on the CRAs websites and his default drops off in September as it defaulted in 2008. Although he hasn't got any current credit accounts, so hasn't been able to build his rating. We've sent the information to our broker and crossing our fingers now for something closer to 80-85% ltv
