Silk bridal bouquet?

Options
Hi everyone

I'm getting married abroad this summer and have been starting to think more about the wedding flowers.

Have been looking into getting a bridal bouquet of silk flowers...this way I can keep my bouquet (hopefully!) forever and won't have the stress of arranging flowers abroad.

Plus does anyone know if customs allow you to bring flowers back into the UK from abroad?

Wha do others think regarding real vs artificial/silk flowers? Also trying to be moneysaving of course!
Any suppliers that you would recommend?

Thanks in advance

I'm also considering silk flowers as I'm getting married in November so it'll be easier to get the choice of flowers I want. I also have severe hay fever so it will ensure I'm not a sneezing bride! I looked at several companies but a floristry tutor friend is now doing them for me.
I think a lot more people are using silk flowers now and with good ones, you can't always tell the difference either. If I was marrying abroad I'd definitely go that way as they are easy to transport and won't wilt in the heat.

  • im having silk flowers aswell because of price and we are not having any guests at ceremony (elopement to gretna green lol) so they will only be seen on photos and then displayed on a table 8wks later at evening reception. i got mine from amazon then altered them myself as i couldnt get what i actually wanted but the problem is you cant see them till you get them. there are lots of companys advertised in the wedding magazines and online but not sure of prices.

Gretna Green is starting to look very attractive at the moment...!
Wedding feels like a runaway train, plus we have a young baby too.
    Sorry for the moan!

Ok think I need to get researching suppliers...was hoping some users would come here with a few recommendations!

Main thing is price and also getting the flowers/colour combination I want...have no idea how much a bridal bouquet of real flowers would cost so I'm looking at silk as a better alternative where I get to keep the flowers afterwards too!

Anybody else have companies/supplier they can recommend?

yeah, you can bring your bouquet back to the UK, or also you can make shipping to your country from the abroad through some agencies that provides such services.
  • i was quoted £120 for a basic hand tied brides bouquet and bridesmaids posy from a florist in gretna if that helps with your budgeting

Part of the Furniture I won, I won, I won!
I've got silk flowers for my wedding in NYC :)
Definitely recommend https://www.sarahsflowers.com. I only needed a buttonhole and a small bouquet so went for one of her bridesmaid posies. She had a free postage offer last month so I got them both for £35!!
They're really beautiful and realistic too :)
