Help with a muffin recipe

Today I tried a new recipe for date and orange muffins. Unfortunately the amount of ground cloves in the recipe (1 teaspoon) was way too much and the taste of them is really overpowering. My family doesn't like them and I have to agree that they really don't taste nice. Has anyone got any suggestions for how I can incorporate them into another recipe/ pudding or something and somehow disguise the taste. It seems very wasteful to bin them.
On a different note - can anyone recommend a nice recipe for date and orange muffins?
Thank you for your help.

That's such a shame,I'm sure some people write recipes but don't seem to try them to see if they work. Clove is a strong taste ,it kind of numbs your mouth hence the fact that Clove oil is good for toothache! I cant think of a recipe to use them up sometimes sadly you just got to concede that you tried and it didn't work. A lot of people use cake in trifle but even then you would probably taste the clove and ruin some fruit & jelly in the process. Hope someone finds you a more successful recipe for the muffins I've not tried to make them myself!0

I wonder if it would work to slice the muffins alongside a plain cake of some kind and made it into a bread and butter pudding type thing, with a 50/50 mix of the two cakes? Just go easy on any extra sugar in the custard mix.Shrinking my mortgage!

You could always put them out for birds/wildlife? To save putting them in the bin. I'm afraid I don't know any recipes that you could incorporate them in too if the taste is quite strong.Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

Thanks for your suggestions everyone. If anyone can recommend a date and orange muffin recipe (without cloves!!) I'd be very grateful.0

Why don't you just use the recipe you've got, but leave out the cloves?0
