Hi
Has anybody ever used https://www.homegardendiy.co.uk?
They are selling something that I quite like at quite a good price (not too cheap to be believable!) I'm struggling to find any reviews on them. They do take payment via paypal so would that secure my payment if something went wrong?
Any help or any experience of them would be great.
Thanks

If a business displays prices exclusive of VAT they are supposed to let the customer know this fact on their home page. This website doesn't.
The only method of payment is via Paypal but Home Garden Diy add a 2.9% surcharge. Why don't they take account of Paypal charges within their prices like every other reputable online business does?
They have a strange interpretation of the Distance Selling Regulations. They say goods must be unopened and in their original packing if the customer wishes to return them. This clause is untrue and unlawful.
There's no contact phone number. The contact address is probably correct because Google Street View shows business office units where Home Garden DIY say they are based.
If you are happy with the prices once VAT, delivery and the Paypal surcharge are taken into account, Home Garden DIY may be ok to deal with. I personally would look elsewhere though.0 -
Thanks Coopdivi. Think you've helped me make up my mind, I did have serious doubts about the amateurish site and with the points you've raised I've decided against purchasing from them.
Perhaps all would be ok but I'm not going to take th risk.
