Idk if anyone has any experience & can advise but it's worth a shot!
Has anyone been in a situation where whilst BR they may have an option to work, but in a situation where the work they do is only payable outside the BR period under their contract. In addition where the work isn't payable on a day / hour rate - but is subject to assessment as to remuneration at the end of the job.
An example being a builder who builds a house during undischarged period - but only on completion of the work is to be paid?
This wouldn't be a contrivance to avoid earning whilst undischarged - but an industry accepted way of working. The builder wouldn't know the final value of the work done - as it could be paid less than hoped for.
Obviously the earning part of the job would be whilst un discharged but payment once discharged. How would an IPA be calculated?

Is it usual for there to be no advance on payment over the period of the job?

Yes!
My example isn't the best, but yes - it's normal & accepted practice.0 -
Someone here will know, FM.
From my idiot's point of view I'd think that income is only income once it's safely in your pocket.AD March 2014
