I always remember somebody using the term "comment vomiting" in this thread, lol. Truly is the way to go.
I try to post ten times per 24 hours, but in between thinking of topics, I also comment on and like lots if things that are interesting once every half hour on my phone. It maintains a steady stream of new connections and likes/views. Up to 410 followers now
