When we start out on the Debt-Free Wannabe trail we do loads of big "stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the Gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free...
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending :money:

Morning All
A very sad day in our house. Last night I got a call to say my 94yr old Grandma had had a suspected stroke. She was safe in hospital overnnight, and they were doing a scan to check although there was some suggestion it might not be a stroke but an infection. Anyway, I then got a call at 7 this morning from my mum to say she'd died. Peacefully in her sleep.
I loved my grandma so much, she was a massive person in my life, but I am ashamed to say in recent years mainly due to my business, I hadnt seen as much of her as I'd have liked. Feel completely broken up. But life has to go on. I feel so awful as I look terrible from crying but I have had to go to the bank, the business, see the staff, & look after my 5yr old, the school run later Im hoping to have got it together a bit more for.
This means my son has lost both his great grandparents in the space of a month. And suddenly the family feels so much smaller.
Sorry not a MS post from me today, but it does help to share somehow.

Morning All!!
Heart goes out to you Bob, how very sad... I'm sure she had an amazing life in those 94 years - a spectacular innings by anyone's standards!
Ziggy, your crafting from yesterday looked fab! You are a very talented lady indeed!!
Not much from me today... Car is in the garage so hoping they finish it by the end of today so I can have my baby back minus the terrible noise!! It's going to be a very expensive job, but my friend is Dione it virtually labour-free in return for a couple of favours and a bottle of Amaretto!! :A Should save me about £300 on the quotes I've had!
So, I'm pretty confined to the house. Hoping my bestie from work will pop in with his new baby at some point todayhow lush! I've already got a little pressie for him, so no extra money there.
Otherwise, it's the usual:Check banking
Write up meal plan for next couple of weeks until our holiday
Budget for the same period and minimise the impact of the car repair if at all possible
Adpoints and FPL
Hit the gym
Food from stores
Dark wash on economy cycle and out to dry
Hoover, general tidy and file some paperwork
Think that's about it for me... Hope you all have a great day, and again, thoughts and prayers with Bob xxx

Hi all,
So sorry to hear of your loss Bob. My thoughts are with you and your family.
Today: DH and I had just decided we couldn't afford a holiday this year, and then some family friends sent us an invitation to spend a few days with them at their holiday home in September. And then we had the most stunning invite through to a wedding in May, which is being held near DM's house so we won't have to pay for accommodation, which always drives the price of wedding attendance up dreadfully, doesn't it? Two lovely things to look forward to which won't break the bank. Yay!!
I'll be keeping this roll going by having a NSD and doing some more cross-stitch. Also had two letters to confirm things are officially paid-off, which is so satisfying!0 -
So sorry to hear your sad news Bob, what an amazing lady to get to 94! I have a 97 year old nan who lives far away and I am trying to arrange a trip for us all to go and see her in May, time is so precious isn't it?
I had a great discovery when I logged into my paypal account last night and discovered £90 I'd forgotten about! Bonus!
DFW today:
* Breakfast, lunch & dinner from stores - lentil shepherds pie for tonight.
* make packed lunches for tomorrow.
* Check bank.
* No spend day
* Mend DS's school trousers as the seam keeps splitting open.
* Get new free kindle book rental on amazon prime, finished the other one last night.
* Power walk at lunchtime
Have a good day all.

Sorry to hear your news bob :-(
Hi All
I am celebrating today - yesterday I accepted an offer on my house just £5k under the asking price - I am so happy to have sold after just 10 days on the market, in around 8 weeks (should all go through ok) I will be DEBT FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!yay, plus I will have over a years salary in my savings account - now there's a turnaround! Last August I had to borrow money from my sister as I couldn't afford to buy food.
So excited. I can give up my 2nd job hooray.
I am still going to be money saving and I am now sitting down to work out all my incomings and outgoings - what a weight off.
I wish to thank ALDI for providing my kids with very healthy food inspite of our low food budget and I shall continue to shop there.
I am now planning a little weekend holiday with my girls as we haven't been away for 4 years.
Today
I cycled to work - in the last two weeks I have only driven on one day
dinner from stores - not sure what yet

So sorry to hear the new Bob, thinking of your family.
Day off today, so have had a very lazy (but well deserved) morning. Stayed with OH last night and dropped him off at work on my way home this afternoon. Feeling really positive about a lot of things today as we had a really nice talk about our future last night...Think that visit to my friend to visit her newborn twins helped me more than she knows!
