Hi I am getting married 27th December this year (having got engaged on Boxing day last year) . The venue is booked, photographer & DJ are included as part of the venue package & I have my dress & that is it!
I am trying in vain to get a bridesmaid dress for my 14 year old daughter & something for my 12 year old son.
I also need to get flowers, invitations & cake sorted. I'm a little bit worried about the date we have chosen as apparently the last date that the flower markets will be open is the Monday before xmas & white flowers may go a bit brown by the 27th & also about the cake. I only want a sponge cake but presuming that the cake maker won't want to be doing it on xmas day or boxing day, how long will they keep fresh for if done before then?
Anyone else getting married on this date?

Hello, i got married on the 7th December last year, i had foam roses and greenery instead of fresh, and if you order a cake for the 23rd/ 24th December, it will be fine for the 27th, or order one from marks and spencers, the sponge are really nice. I had burgundy bridesmaids dresses for my daughter - debenhams debut - but i got mine second hand off ebay, my partners son got a hired suit with a burgundy cravat. I chose foam flowers so i wouldnt have the worry of flowers not turning up on the day.0

We're getting married on New Year's Eve. I found florists will be closed but some are open, as for cake I'm thinking of making mine and discovered that they freeze week and a lot of cake makers freeze them and finish them closer to the time so it shouldn't be a problem0

Me and my Mrs are getting married in December, not long now!
We are well organised and have very little to do now which is excellent, no stressing, yet...0
