Been offered a job

I been offered a job, it is a conditional offer once the company has done their pre-employments checks, I am worried that if they contact my employer I could lost my job and I wonder if I could email them to see if they will not contact my present employer?

Comments

  • You should have instructed them not to contact them for this reference until they formally made the offer. Not doing so has disclosed your quest to look for another job.

Employment checks may be to check with the current employer

Well yes OP if you have not been there 2 years they can let you go but would have to pay notice.

How long left on the fixed term?

if they want to contact your present employer for a reference and you will get the job on the basis of that then i don't understand what the problem is, assuming you will accept the job.
