Hi All,
So we are getting married on the 7th of June (in Provence, South of France) and I must say that the whole thing has been pretty much organised on the fly as we have just not had the time to devote to it. I'm now worried we might have missed something big/important!
Just to say that we live in Switzerland (OH is French, I'm British) and we both have quite responsible/professional jobs that keep us busy and traveling. I'm studying for an MBA part time and OH is also a volunteer fireman in the Swiss service. On top of that, I was just headhunted so we'll be leaving Switzerland in the summer to move to the Philippines, which is going to take some organising! This on top of the fact that the wedding is taking place in a different country to where we are living, means it's been a bit of a hassle to arrange.
This is what we have done - are we missing anything?
- Reception venue arranged
- Mairie/town hall booked
- French paperwork complete
- Caterer booked and menu confirmed
- Honeymoon booked
- Invitations sent
- Dress bought
- Bridesmaid's dresses ordered
- DJ booked
- Guest accommodation arranged
- Guest transfers booked (for the UK and non-France guests flying in)
- Brides' shoes and jewellery sorted
- Flowers sorted
- Stag weekend booked
This is what we are in process of doing;
- Hen party
- Ordering rings
- Confirming transport from Mairie to the reception venue (helicopter!!)
- Table plan and place settings (my mum is making them)
- Reception decoration and table decorations (OH's mum is making them)
- Ordering wine (visiting vineyards in chateauneuf du pape & gigondas regions next weekend to buy it - this is what happens when you marry a Frenchman!)
- Dress alterations (will be done at same time as wine)
- Confirm brunch for day after
Still to do;
- Find a hairdresser for the day
- Buy make-up (I'm doing my own, don't trust anyone else!)
- Bridesmaid's dress alterations
- Find suit & shoes for the Groom
- Gifts for the wedding party
- Book band for the Vin d'honneur/cocktail
Anything glaring that we have forgotten? If so, please do let me know!!
Thanks for reading
TQ

Invitations? Or are you just inviting your guests verbally? Favours if you are doing them. I can't think of anything else, you actually seem pretty organised!Officially saved enough to cover the cost of our wedding! :A0

I think you need to live in the town for the 40 days preceding the wedding for the mairie to accept you, is that factored in or is it his home town which may override this rule?0
