If you did not know in March that your OH was going BR then you may get away with that one as it was a couple of months ago but not certain.

With the others, the V5 document states that the registered keeper is not necessarily the owner of the vehicle. So you can use that information to your advantge if you wish. But you will have to declare the use of them I would think.

    Be careful.

the cars in his name could be realized as an asset by the OR. the OR will usually be interested in individual items over £1,000.

Was the car signed over to you without you paying for it?

If so The transfer of the car will be looked at be the OR and it will be at their discretion. They can however reverse these types of asset transfers if they find that he was ridding himself of assets.

would just add that my car is only worth about £600 and the OR wants it but if i could get a family member or friend to buy it and they have to make the OR a offer on the vehicle - so technically it does not matter what the value of the car is worth if the OR wants it they will have it

God I hope they don't take mine or we'll be walking over an hour to school (one way) for eldest daughter, then 30 mins for the next 3, and then an hour back home...can't see myself doing that every day, and there are no buses unless you walk 15 mins to the bus stop, change in town and then walk 15 mins the other end :( And that's only to the primary school.

Put it this way-it's an R reg VW Sharan that used to be a taxi-it's done 143000 miles and the rear bumper is held on with screws, the front bumper is scratched on both sides, and there are scratches and marks all over it. How does that sound to you? :D
