CL Finance / Lewis Debt Recovery

Hi, apologies if this is not the correct board to post this.
I paid off my DAS through Think Link nearly 3 years ago. Yesterday I got a letter from Lewis Debt recovery informing me that following an audit I have made an overpayment and I should contact them. To say i'm slightly suspicious is an understatement as i've never heard of this before. Am I just being paranoid and should I give them a call?
Thanks

I suppose it's possible. Give them a call. Why are you afraid of them? Your business is concluded, you dont owe anyone anything and even if they did 'discover' something, you know exactly how to deal with it - a prove it letter, flat denial or ignoring them.
On the other hand, they might owe you money and wouldnt it just irk you to know that they had a penny more of your money than they are entitled to?Debt Free! Long road, but we did it

Thanks for the reply. I will give them a ring tomorrow. I just thought it strange them contacting me 3 years down the line about an overpayment - in my favour?????? You read about underhand tactics of these companies all the time on here and it just made me wonder. And yes it would irk me just a little to find out they had money of mine they weren't entitled to0

Or you could contact your former DAS Payments Distributor about it.
As they made the payment to the creditor, any refund should come to them, to then be passed back to you...
I'm not sure if they'd still act for you after three years, but it might be worth a try. If they're OK about contacting the creditor, it means that you don't have to0
