Hi
I went BR in 03, discharged 04.
Only cleaning up files now due to ignorance!
Followed GREAT advice here THANKS SO MUCH to you all.
But:
Have only heard back from Max Recovery, Equifax and Experian. (sent off letters 7 Jun 07). I am concerned as I was not able to supply my account numbers with my letters and certificates of discharge as I no longer have the all the docs as it was 03...I did give my name (unusual and address at time).
My recorded deliveries were not all signed for (!) and I am particularly worried about Egg and Littlewoods (store card for now defunct shops) as they were the main culprits for continuing to report defaults.
Does anyone have the correct number for these two companies? or know how I should proceed? Any advice welcomed. THANKS![/i]

Hi.
The advice you may have read has been updated recently with new info from the Information Commisioner.
Please read:
http://bankruptcy.informe.com/viewtopic.php?t=192
http://www.debtquestions.co.uk/debt_forum/viewtopic.php?t=18900
and
http://bankruptcy.informe.com/viewtopic.php?t=19
http://www.debtquestions.co.uk/debt_forum/viewtopic.php?t=9431
and maybe http://www.debtquestions.co.uk/debt_forum/viewforum.php?f=23
The correct contact details for the 'Data Controller' for a creditor should be available by searching:
http://www.esd.informationcommissioner.gov.uk/esd/search.asp
If the creditors fail to update your records correctly after this then report them to the 'Information Commisioner'. It takes a few months for them to act as they are snowed under, but they have the legal authority to bring these creditors into line.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
