Hi pinkparrott I buy Horlicks from our local B&M store as it's much cheaper. I think Poundland sell it too so it might be worth a look. Mmmm I love malty drinks......I might head off and make one nowHouse renovation savings £25,000/£25,000

I like horlicks too and asda own brand malted drink, made with water not milk, is just as good. In fact I used to find horlicks would go hard in the tub very quickly whereas the asda jar with a screw top lid seems to last much better , not sure if it's the container, the powder or both.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

If your kids drink a lot - then try and source some barley malt powder. I buy mine on Amazon but I have found it in brewing shops.
Mix 500ml of milk powder
with
6 heaped tablespoons of barley malt
and store in a jar.
Mix 4 heaped tablespoons with a mug full of hot milk ..... and whisk really well as it can go a bit claggy in the bottom of the mug.
Add sugar to taste (I don't add to the mix as I find it sweet enough but the kids like a teaspoon of sugar added)
