Buying gift card in Sainsburys with nectar points?

Since you can no longer trade nectar points in for amazon vouchers I would like to buy an amazon gift card from Sainsburys and use my nectar points to pay. I've done this previously but was also buying groceries above the amount of the gift card.
Does anybody know if you can just do a straight purchase for a gift card using points please?

Worked for me on Amazon gift card during Christmas. (Spend and Save vouchers do not work, btw)Mark Hughes' blue and white army0 -
