Well done Vintage on getting your debt down from £8,000 to where you are today that is a big achievement, when does your phone contract and the other peoples that your are paying for end? As you have said the £91 is for 4 people and it is included in your income, if you are still in your plan could you ring up and see if your tarriff could be reduced if you don't use all the minutes and texts etc. It might be best if you close a few of those bank accounts just so you can have a clear picture of where things stand, I imagine things can get very overwhelming at times when you are sending money all over the place I bet it is easy to lose track. As everyone above has said there are a few things on your S.O.A that could help reduce outgoings and bring your money left over up but as your debt has gone down by so much I guess you are paying chunks to them each month?
I don't think the phone contract is for 4 people. OP said she has 4 lines. I'm presuming they're all hers.Dave Ramsey Fan[/COLOR]0 -

wow,
i'd use the savings and spare cash THIS MONTH to pay off the debts.
start afresh next payday
account 1: salary goes in,all direct debits go out of
account 2:monthly amount for petrol , car maintenance, mot
account 3: food/shopping/clothing allowance
account 4: holiday/new York/passport savings
account 5: emergency fund
account 6:savings
when you have worked out the monthly amounts for 2 ,3 ,4 ,5 ,6 times by 12 and divide by 52, this gives weekly amopunts
once a week withdraw that , stick it in different little envelopes of sections of your purse. don't use your cards again until following week.
PLEASE get contents insurance-fire or flood, you have no belongings!!! this should come well before gyms and holidays.
good luck:)LIVE SIMPLY * GIVE MORE * EXPECT LESS * BE THANKFUL0 -

How do you stay on budget?
Firstly, you need to do some forensic budgetting. Look at the last few months and see why and how your spending didn't match your SOA. Can you spot any patterns?
Then either change your SOA to match your spending or your spending to match your SOA. One simple mantra will help - is it in the budget? If it is, good, you may buy milk and eggs. If it isn't, or you have already spent that months budget, you shall not go to the ball...But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

I just wanted to say thanks to Mr Dorsetty!
I love your ABC system - I have been working hard at getting my spending under control but find my down fall is going out for the day with one particular friend. She earns double my salary and has no kids and I always find that I come back from a day out with her having bought stuff I don't really need and having completely blown the budget.
I am definately going to use the ABC method when I am out with her so that I don't get caught up with spending just because she is.

But if you really must obsess over money and spending then get a notice board and mark it A, B, & C. Use this for luxuries you want, not food etc. Use written notes or a white board
* A = I must have it i.e I have dropped my mobile phone down the toilet and must get one that works
B = I'd quite like one of these when I have the money spare
C = I sort of fancy one of these because I like shiny things
Try it, it works for time management and for spending.:EasterBun20p savings club: 20p
